An Introduction to Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is emerging as an important tool of change and competitive advantage in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction design. This evening Mr. Russell will discuss what BIM is, who is and who should be using BIM, BIM requirements for Design Teams and IT managers, examples of BIM projects, and the benefits of BIM. Mr. Russell will answers questions a provide direction to BIM resources.
Mr. Russell is the SIMCON (Simulated Construction) Manager for Sundt Construction. With over twenty years experience in the construction-related CAD/CAM field, Mr. Russell has participated in the development and construction of several high-profile projects, including the Arizona Science Center, Finova Corporate Center, Airmore Hangar One, and US Airways Center. Mr.Russell is a LEED Accredited Professional, a member of the AGC’s BIM Forum, and co-author of the AGC’s Contractors’ Guide to BIM.
