Company: Del E. Webb School of Construction (DEWSC)
at Arizona State University

Notes: Dr. Gibson is a Professor and the Sunstate Endowed Chair in the Construction Management and Engineering in DEWSC. His research and teaching interests include organizational change, front end planning, asset management, alternative dispute resolution and risk management and he has received several awards for research excellence.  He has been active on many national committees, among them a National Research Council committee investigating project management practices at the U.S. Department of Energy, the Architectural Engineering Institute, and also served as a Fulbright Senior Specialist in Norway in Fall 2004.

Notes: We take objects as small as a toothbrush, or as large as a skyscraper and bring them to life in a 3D model using state of the art laser scanning technology. The end result is a complete computer re-creation of the object that is accurate to within millimeters. Simply put this is the fastest, most accurate measuring tool known. This technology is used in construction; BIM; surveying; historic preservation; petrochemical; power; forensic investigation; asset management; environmental studies; na many other emerging markets.

Notes: They will discuss the $11.5 million, 2.4 megawatt SunPower solar rooftop system installed at the Cowley Industrial Park building in South Phoenix. The project is the largest commercial solar rooftop system in Arizona and the second largest in U.S.  It is expected to produce more than 4 million kilowatt hours per year and will offset 3,900 tons of carbon dioxide each year.
